Palm Springs Day Trip - BEARPAD Collaboration

I was asked recently by Patrick and Jordan at BEARPAD to contribute to a group project spearheaded by Jordan. The intent of the project is to offset Tom of Finland art (You know, cop porn) found in gay spaces by providing large cutouts made by other artists to display in said spaces. Tom of Finland art is very important to the history of gay and leather culture, but so often it's the only art on display in these spaces, so this is a great opportunity to add something different without attempting to replace the ToF art. Jordan has rounded up a handful of artists, including myself, to make these pieces and while it took some spontaneity to actually make it happen, I'm super pleased with the end result and so glad I was able to contribute one of my own. I don't make a whole lot of traditional art, so that was extra fun.
This design was originally sold as a magnet on my store, but has been sold out for a while (I should probably get it reprinted, people seemed to like it...). However, it feels like it'll fit right in at a gay bar, being a gogo boy and all.
The piece will be on display at CCBC for Western Exposure in Palm Springs this weekend before being featured with the other pieces in a group show and hopefully eventually making its way to a queer bar (I'm hoping here in LA), so if you're going to Western Exposure, take a picture with the piece and DM me or tag me on twitter! Big thanks to my boyfriend Thomas, as well as Jordan and Patrick, for the group effort in making this piece happen in the span of a day. It was so much fun! Extra thanks for them snapping photos. I was pretty in the zone and not on my phone much!
