In my headcanon, Herb (and by extension, the girls) are now part filipino.

I'm glad you didn't skip. Even if it doesn't set up things in the future, this is interesting background on Pumpkin and her family.

While that's a legitimate complaint from Pumpkin, it does explain Herb not having something in memory tied to her and mixing her up with the others. And considering that Ellie is Tarra+TerminalLaziness and she describes Pumpkin as "Mini Me" ( <a href="http://shotgunshuffle.com/comic/the-less-you-know/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://shotgunshuffle.com/comic/the-less-you-know/</a> ), it is nice that Herb confused her with those two. Pumpkin might be fairly insulted to be confused with Cinn or Juniper (Ellie was for Juniper). Also, I like some story showing who Herb is as a person a bit more. Yes, art is good too. "Who Pumpkin imposes herself upon after" is an interesting phrase and alters my guessing framework. I would've thought Rosemary/Ashliii/Bubbles as most likely with Ellie and maybe Tarra after that. However with it being "imposing" that seems more likely to be in the direction of Quinn, Juniper, Anise, Damien, Ginger, or maybe Cinn (though Cinn would seem more likely to be "take it out on" than "work through it with"). Maybe a curveball and it's Caz, even. It'll be interesting to see where that goes, but I'm still happy getting to know Herb a bit and it taking a couple of weeks to get that answered.

I think it's fine to have some insight into Herb. We didn't get to see that much of him before and Rosemary already got a bit of extra spotlight. So now it's his turn. So Pumpkin &lt;i&gt;was&lt;/i&gt; part of whatever Herb did with his daughters. At least every now and then. So is there really nothing that honestly caught her fancy or is she just a bit miffed that this is the first time he focused his attention on her? I guess by the seventh daughter and as a police chief he should have the patience and thick enough hide to finally push through the layer of annoyance and get Pumpkin to open up, finding something fun for them to do. Question is, does Pumpkin has the patience for that.

Sorry for the double post. But I'm kind of wondering what the things are with the daughters. Crud, I have to go back and find that daughter age chart. I was wondering what the daughters things are. We know that Tarragon has fishing and Ellie has Monopoly.

I like the secluded location. It's like a secret fishing spot. Or something like that. By the way, set up is always good. I will admit that I'm a little lost in the dialogue from panel two. What does he know, and what is Pumpkin admitting? I don't know. But on the other hand, it's showing a bit of the usual parental mixups that occurs with names and other things. I don't think that Herb has the same mental filing cabinet that he has for work situated for the family. Jumbled files, mental mixups. Hey, lighting bolts. Type of stuff.

Consider the art digged...dug?...dugged? Yea, something like that. Especially Pumpkin in panel 3 pose.
