Way too Obvious

I have to wonder... did Pumpkin change to visit Quinn? Because if this is what she wearing to school, her mom is going to have a heart attack.

If there's a pattern in the minecraft hoodies so far that you see, I'm afraid it eludes me. Closest I can get is that she was wearing the creeper hoodie when discussing people at cons crossing others' personal boundaries without permission (possibly creepers) with Kat (a closet creeper). If the new hoodie represents Quinn being aghast at what seems to be another Buckingham moving into her apartment, then maybe I can get a handle on it.

Someone's growing up in the upstairs, too. It wasn't too long ago that she was criticizing those who looked like her favorite big sister, but it's going to be a kick in the stomach if she eclipses Ellie.

Personally I think she currently just feels comfortable around Quinn. She is someone she knows and both likes and respects. And who does not hold any expectations of her or has family ties that may interfere. So since she still feels a bit edgy around her older friends due to the whole Kat situation and yet kind of miserable if she's all alone, she tries to spend some time with her. Where it goes from there is currently anyone's best guess (except for Rusche for obvious reasons). But I get the feeling she currently does not really need (and search for) a partner and more just someone to hang out with.

I see this as pumpkin being insecure with herself and seeking a strong role model to develop a bond with. Not in a romantic sense but in like a mentor/older friend/older sister sense. Quinn was probably the first person to tell it to her straight, which is both respectable and admirable. And kids especially at that age seek strong role models of who they eventually want to become, whether they realize it or not. It will be interesting to see how this dynamic plays out, because they could actually become friends or Quinn might have gotten more than she asked for by helping Pumpkin out.

While we all know that Pumpkin has a decent head on her shoulders, I posit the question is Pumpkin is not all the knowledgeable about dealing with strong emotions (The Kat kissing with the Rosemary blockage.) I'm not saying that Pumpkin's emotions are running one way or the other in terms of gender preference, I'm suggesting that she doesn't know how to properly process her emotional turbulence in relation to people she associates with. So, could Pumpkin be confusing a legitimate talk about herself and her situation and the emotional backwash that could confuse a young person such as herself?

I don't see Quinn offering a kiss, and with the amount of restraint Rosemary showed with Ellie (along with Ellie being able to tell Rosemary that she knows for a fact that Quinn used to have a boyfriend who slept over), I doubt Rosemary will get too steamed. After all, Pumpkin is asexual or demisexual, so it's not as if she's going to want to do something that shouldn't go on between them sexually. She just wants to spend time with someone that she feels understands her. Which is quite understandable, just don't know that Quinn will have the patience for it.
