Farrah will be his companion for eternity, as will any of his friends he can bring to immortality. Zara may well reach that goal, but so far her goals are for improving Pali, not in playing some cosmic role like Jason has been forced to become. Invest in the relationship and the growth they get from it rather than bemoaning that it may not be eternal. This isn't a romance book.

His narrator has to renege on his promise to wrap things up in one book or the author has to retcon/ignore the initial 3 day promise, at the very least. There's a *lot* of loose threads that won't wrap up nicely in one more book. ... oh, and Rothfuss has to actually write when he tells people he did writing. Or just give up, whatever. He doesn't owe us anything. Whatever you may be able to say about the speed of plot progression in HWFWM, Shirt has been very good about regularly releasing chapters... and not like we're at Dragonball Z levels of just charging up for a whole chapter, so I'm not super worried.

I'd imagine Sophie's at gold is stronger than that and as an aura ability can stretch out to hit a lot of people all at once over a fairly large distance. Also Raythe even said that she doesn't know what happens if Jason does the time loop. It could be the solution or it could end catastrophically. From what I got from it Jason doing the time loop is the reason Raythe can't tell what happens because of interference caused by the time loop. Raythe and Dawn are just trying to convince Jason to accept whatever defeat is coming his way because it is a known outcome with minimal damage, while Jason doing the time loop is an unknown that could cause massive damage that would destroy atleast Earth's and Palli's universes. At least that's what I took from the last 2 chapters.

It would have surprised me a lot if we had been told what very likely is going to happen and what Jason mustn't do to try and stop it. Monday's chapter was the perfect point to take a large break and wait for more chapters to come out.

It should be law that authors who didn't start stories/novels as a time-loop should stay away from them altogether. Zara trashed her chances for Queen with using his name was a political issue, so finding out that she later does end up with him is major politics for Storm Kingdom. That’s without taking into account that he is a semi godlike figure on Palli. Imagine how the politics would work if someone on Earth was to say “By the way, one of the family members of the British Royal Family is now dating an actual God like Odin.” But Gods actually show up on Palli, so suddenly you have a country Princess dating a member of a working and active pantheon. It makes all interactions with that country a religious and political mess. It’s also one reason most places on Earth in real life have a separation of Church and State.

Amazing! ...And still doesn't make up for the increasing suspicion that we're going to get no info on the big bad till it arrives, even when Raythe has told Jason. Although it's possible that she hasn't told him yet? It's a little confusing with Dawn coming and going in this chapter, but I think/hope that she only swung by to confirm the warnings Raythe was giving, and now Jason's spending a bunch of time with Raythe in his universe learning how to hide things from his prime avatar before she tells him about the big secret, since he needs to not let it know. I guess we haven't missed the reveal yet?
