He's talking about the Sun itself being a star, sitting alone in space, but still lighting up the moon (giving us light at night) and being easy to see in the daylight. But Lucifer is the Morning Star, the 'constant star' in the sky that you can always see. So part of the lyrics is certainly leaning into being Lucifer being to a beacon you can always see and depend on. Whereas God is invisible to us, Lucifer is a shining light, openly walking beside us, day or night.
