It's a very interesting cover, and I think the important context for you is that this was performed at what was ostensibly a parody awards show, pretty much a mixed media comedy performance by a lot of SNL and SNL-adjacent talent. So I don't think anyone in the audience was expecting to hear something this genuinely well-performed. Still an awesome reaction to a very unique pop culture moment!
