I am excited to share some important updates about new changes being introduced to MysticMesh3D. As part of my ongoing commitment to provide MysticMesh3D subscribers with the best possible experience, I have implemented several new features and improvements that I believe will greatly benefit active subscribers.
Here are the key changes:
[Introduction of the MysticMesh3D Starter Pack]. New subscribers will now get instant access to the MysticMesh3D Starter Pack. The starter pack will contain 100+ designs from the catalog that will get new subscribers started off with plenty of MysticMesh3D essentials!
[New Tiers]: There will be three new tiers introduced: Personal Maker Tier, Authorized Merchant Tier, Full Access Merchant Tier.
[Using Dropbox for file sharing]: I went through and organized every design on the catalog into its own .zip folder containing the files, photos of the product, and a text document that has all of the information about the design. Everyone who is currently subscribed has had full access to the entire catalog since day one and has been able to download every design released directly from the Patreon posts. To make life easier for everyone, I'll be sharing this master folder with all active subscribers who have had a subscription starting before 6/1/24. This master folder has every design nicely organized with all of the relative information so you won't need to go scrolling through the past few years of Patreon posts to download everything. Starting 6/1/24 active subscribers will get a message in their inbox each month containing the dropbox link and password for that months current design releases. The files will also be attached to the Patreon posts as they have been, but at the end of each month the files will be removed from the posts and you'll be able to refer to the dropbox if you missed anything and need to go back to access any files released in previous months where you held an active subscription.
Introduction of the MysticMesh3D Starter Pack:
In order to maintain the quality and value of my offerings to active subscribers, I am making a change to the MysticMesh3D Catalog access policy. Starting 6/1/24, instead of providing full access to the entire catalog of over 300+ designs for only $10, new subscribers will now get access to a starter pack that contains 100+ designs for the same price. This change will be implemented to make active subscriptions more valuable. I've been developing my catalog over the past 5+ years and it has grown to the point where I need to make some adjustments to file access to account for how large the catalog now is.
The current flaw of providing full access to an entire catalog of designs for a low price (And the reason why it's not viable once a catalog reaches a certain size) is that it devalues the benefits of being an active subscriber and allows people to abuse the system. Here is a real example: Someone subscribes to get the commercial license for only $10 and gets free access to every design released over the past few years. They download everything, unsubscribe, then will resubscribe 6 months later and get free access to every design released over the past 6 months while they didn't have an active subscription. This allows them to get fully caught up with active subscribers who were paying to get free access to those models released at the time. After they get fully caught up they'll unsubscribe again and then do it again 6 months later. I design products full time for my active subscribers, it's not fair for my subscribers to allow someone to get free access to the models that were released in the months where they had an active subscription and the person who is getting free access to them was unsubscribed during those months. Free access to my new designs are for ACTIVE subscribers only.
If a new subscriber wants a design that was released in previous months where they didn't have an active subscription and the design wasn't included in the starter pack, they'll be able to purchase the files individually from Cults3D, Thangs, or MyMiniFactory.
The starter pack will contain 100+ designs handpicked from the catalog that will get new subscribers started off with plenty MysticMesh3D essentials! The starter pack includes models from many different categories which will give new subscribers many different types of products to print. The starter pack has many best selling designs for shops who are subscribed under the commercial license tier who can get started selling over 100+ different products right away!
New Tiers:
Ever since the beginning of MysticMesh3D Patreon there has only been one tier, $10/month Commercial License tier. I have shops who subscribe for the commercial license so they can sell physical prints of MysticMesh3D designs, as well as personal makers who subscribe and don't sell products but want free access to new designs that are released to the catalog each month because it's much cheaper than purchasing them individually. The new tiers that will be introduced are:
Personal Maker ($8/month): This tier will simply give free access to new MysticMesh3D designs as soon as they're released! I typically release 4-20+ new designs every month, so this tier will give a nice discount instead of purchasing the designs individually. The $10/month tier provides much more value for the price, but if you're someone who is strictly subscribing to get free access to new designs for personal use and don't care for the additional benefits, you can get a $2/month discount with this tier.
Authorized Merchant ($10/month): This is the same tier everyone is currently subscribed to and nothing will change with your active subscription. This tier grants a commercial license (with active subscription) to print and sell MysticMesh3D products, gives access to the MysticMesh3D Starter Pack containing over 100+ designs, gives free access to new designs released every month, access to the MysticMesh3D discord server, and access to monthly 3D printing competitions. The starter pack is currently valued at over $300+ worth of individual designs, being priced at only $10 is an amazing deal for any 3D printing shops who are looking to get a good amount of products that they can start selling right away.
Full Access Authorized Merchant ($50/month): This tier gives the same benefits as the $10/month Authorized Merchant tier except the major difference is that this tier will give full access to the up to date master catalog currently containing over 300+ designs rather than getting access to the starter pack that contains over 100+ designs. The full MysticMesh3D catalog is currently valued at over $1,000+ worth of individual designs, being priced at only $50 for full access is an amazing deal for any 3D printing shops who sell a lot of products. Since you instantly get full access to the entire catalog with this tier and will continue to get free access to new designs released each month with the $10/month Authorized Merchant tier, it is best for shops who subscribe to this $50 full access tier to obtain the full catalog then downgrade their subscription to the $10/month Authorized Merchant tier to retain their commercial license to print and sell MysticMesh3D products.
Using Dropbox for file sharing:
When I first started licensing my catalog I had around 20-30 designs posted, so attaching the files directly to Patreon listings wasn't too much of an issue because there wasn't much scrolling required to view everything. Now, with over 300+ designs released to the catalog as well as many other posts, scrolling through all of the Patreon posts to locate files is not ideal and can be time consuming. I'm going to start using dropbox for file access as it will be much easier for everyone to locate files.
On the 1st of each month all active subscribers will get a message in their inbox that has the dropbox link and password to access the files released during that month. When a new design is released, a Patreon post will be made as normal showing pictures of the product, a description with information about the design, and the files attached directly to the Patreon post so you can easily click download right from Patreon. The new files will also be added to the monthly dropbox folder in addition to the new Patreon posts. At the end of each month the files will be removed from the Patreon posts to prevent designs released in previous months from being accessed by someone who didn't have a subscription during those months. You'll refer to the dropbox link in your messages to download any files you may have missed during a month you were subscribed.
Everything will be much more organized moving forward. Instead of downloading the files and then organizing them from your end, I handle all of the organization before I release the files by making sure everything that is apart of the Patreon post is also included in the folder downloaded. All of the files will be in there, a folder containing all of the pictures, and a text document containing the description and any print settings or purchase links associated with that particular design all in the same .zip folder.
Following this post I will make a separate post that will allow all current subscribers before 6/1/24 to download the master catalog. This will contain every design available on the catalog that you've had access to since the day you subscribed. This will save you the time of having to go through each individual Patreon post to download all of the files and then having to organize everything yourself.
I am committed to enhancing your experience and providing subscribers with the best quality designs that can generate sales for their 3D printing shops. I appreciate the time you took to type this. My journey licensing my models started years ago with a much smaller catalog of around 20 designs. I offered $10/month for the commercial license and full access to my catalog of 20 designs at the time. Over the past few years I have spent hours everyday developing new designs for my catalog and now currently have over 300+ designs available. The main selling point of subscribing is to get a commercial license to make money selling physical prints of designs on my catalog. The commercial license requires the monthly subscription to retain. With my catalog continuing to grow every month I knew eventually I would get to a point like most other creators where I simply couldn't give full access anymore for only $10. I sell individual files for non-commercial use through Cults3D for those who aren't interested in paying monthly for the commercial license and just want to print someone out for themselves. My catalog contains the past 5 years of my work and has over $1,000+ individual stl files. I want my new subscribers to have products to print right away, so aside from getting free access to every new design I release throughout the month they get instant access to my starter pack containing over 100+ designs. Most people wouldn't be able to print every design in the starter pack their first month because there's a lot of designs in there. This starter pack is valued at $300+ and is provided to all subscribers to the $10/month Authorized Merchant tier. My full catalog with 300+ designs worth over $1,000+ is now provided to all subscribers to the $50/month tier. They can subscribe and pay $50 for the full catalog and then downgrade their subscription to the $10/month Authorized Seller so they can retain their commercial license to sell physical prints. These changes bring more value to my active subscribers because now someone can re-subscribe once every year for only $10 and get a years worth of design releases that were intended for active subscribers who pay for their monthly membership. I design products full time for my active subscribers, and those who have an active subscription during the month I release the design will get free access. The Personal Maker tier is only $8/month and gives free access to every new design released throughout the month. Some months I've released 20-25+ new designs which would cost anywhere from $60-$100 for the individual files, so you get a great deal with the Personal Maker tier as well.

2024-06-02 15:24:10 +0000 UTCI think this move probably makes sense, but I did want to offer you a counterpoint to at least consider. Many of us personal use patrons simply won’t maintain any subscription. That means for example. I just got my X-1 Carbon and am starting the hobby green. The first sub I got was as Ryzar Miniatures which has a similar approach as to what you have laid out above. I did not fully read the terms and was a little disappointed to learn that I couldn’t get the models that drew me to his page, at least not without paying more. I cancelled my subscription and bought a few specific models on the way out the door. Then I was interested in CinderWings3D’s dragon but this time I did read the terms and was again not as interested in a subscription, but I did spend $4 for her most famous model, the crystal dragon. So then I see your Patreon. Your stuff was less in my wheel house of interest but I did like the furniture SD card and the Castle Planters. I noticed you had the old school style subscription where Patron’s get it all right out of the gate. I thought to myself, how can 400 models not be worth $10 and subbed right away. Now, this part sort of comes down to stats I am not privy to. But depending how trends if a lot of people just sub for a single month in any case, wouldn’t it be better to have the $10 as opposed to just $4 with clients just cherry picking maybe the 1 model that captured their attention? Now maybe most of your patrons just keep that monthly sub in which case this is a moot point. All that said, I want to commend you on your success and having dug into your models a bit more, I’ve never had a failed print from your files. Best of luck. I am still happy to buy individual models going forward.

On the 1st of each month I'll be sending out a dropbox link + password to every active subscriber via messages. The dropbox link will only contain files released during that month. The link and password will remain the same, so you will be able to go into your messages and locate any files you may have missed.

Is there any plans to link with myminifactory? I'm terrible at downloading links each month and atleast with myminifactory I know I don't have to remember to download each month as they'll just appear
