If you had no values to offer, logically, no one would see a point in loving you besides your mother. That's why we see killers and people guilty of heinous crimes still have their parents in their life and visit them in jail. Bc your value to them could never decrease, because they made you.

With your weight example, maybe your dedication and motivation in the gym is the transaction for them that drew them closer as a customer. So, you being 500 pounds took that transaction off the market. It sounds harsh but that's the reality.

How someone doesn't love you specifically but instead the value you provide. You'll then go into examples like if you were homeless or if your girl gained 500 pounds. I disagree, solely because in order for you to go homeless or gain 500 pounds, you'd have to lose a part of yourself. To gain 500 pounds one would have to lose the motivation to work hard in the gym and possibly in general, maybe that was a significant trait that kept you interested in them, for them to no longer be that way is to no longer be the them that you know. I don't think it's possible for anyone other than your mother to love just your physical being regardless of what you do or how you look. But I think loving someone for who they are is still love. I can go into a mega deep dive on this topic but it's too much to type.
