XToys Updates - Apr 18 2022

Oops it's been a while since I posted. There's been a uh...a whole lot of new features added to XToys in the past month.

Loading a folder of local files

You can now browse to a folder of audio e-stim files or funscript files and run them as patterns on your toy without needing to actually upload them to XToys.

I'm still looking at adding support for the same functionality in the Android app.

Playlist support

You can now (finally!) add multiple patterns to a playlist and have them play one after another.

Twitter support

You can now make your toys react any time a tweet is made with a given hashtag or by a given user. The Twitter API is a little limiting so most of the functionality is only available for premium users.

Heart rate monitor support

You can make your toys react based on your heart rate and it should work with any bluetooth heart rate monitor that follows the proper spec.

'Multi-User Teases'

This was a quite a big change to how online play can work. Basically it's now possible to create a Tease that connects multiple people and displays different content to each person while still allowing each person to add their own toys and other blocks. This allows now for multiplayer simple games right in XToys, and also for things like large group events where everyone can have their toys react to say Twitter/Discord events.

Canvas support

You can now have a Tease draw objects and images onto an html canvas. It won't allow for fast dynamic drawing since it is still limited to the slow javascript interpreter but it's helpful for drawing charts or multiple images in a Tease at the same time.

Pressure sensor toy support

There's a number of kegel toys which previously just had vibrator support in XToys. So I've been going back through them and adding proper support for the pressure sensor portion.

Facial expression support

This one's just silly. You can now have toys react based on you making the ahegao face (or other facial expressions).

Shock mode for e-stim toys

And finally most recently I've been adding support for e-stim toys like the DG-Lab Coyote to run in an alternate mode where they act similar to a shock collar. So setting the strength and then pressing a button to send a shock and stopping the shock when the button is released.

Most importantly this allows for e-stim toys to be used with Teases that were designed with a shock collar in mind.

Upcoming things!

I'm looking now at support for reacting to the frequency of playing audio. So this will hopefully include both the possibility of adjusting the Coyote frequency to match the audio frequency, and setting toy intensity based on the frequency. I imagine it's going to take a long time to get this working properly and be the main project for the next month.

I'm also looking at allowing filtering the toy list to just toys you own, and just another round of bug fixing.
