XToys Updates - July 30

Lots of new things done this month!

Custom Toys

You can now use a bunch of new methods for hooking up your non-bluetooth toys to XToys.

I've added support for MQTT as well as sending POST requests. So XToys can now directly communicate with devices connected to systems live HiveHQ and Home Assistant.

I've also added support for connecting to a local websocket server so you can run your own simple passthru server on your machine and then send commands to your toys however you want.

Since most home automation toys people are trying to connect are probably going to be on/off style plugs and switches I've also added support for making the toy just be an on/off toggle.

Audio E-Stim Frequency Control

My god this was such a pain to get implemented and took most of the month. Audio E-Stim now supports all the frequency based things that the Coyote does. So you can create dynamic patterns that adjust the frequency, or just set one audio channel to have a slightly different frequency than the other for triphase style affects, or run different patterns to control the intensity and the frequency.

New Toys Supported

XToys now supports toys from Fredorch, Folove, Kizuna, Lelo, and Nobra!

Upcoming Plans - OSC Support

I'm looking to add support for OSC (Open Sound Control). I'm going to implement generic support for OSC, but really the intention behind this is to support VRChat's OSC implementation so that XToys can directly control and react to your VRChat avatar.

Upcoming Plans - Additional Toys

I'm down to the last few vendors that aren't yet supported in XToys, and they were left until the end for good reason. I'm expecting it'll actually take the rest of the year to get them implemented but we'll see how it goes.

Mystery Vibe - Mystery Vibe's toys have way too many vibrators which means they don't work with the current UI or pattern design in XToys.

TempestVR - Adding support for the OSR2/SR6 and such is going to be a significant challenge. First the toys can be custom with various extra additions depending on the individual build, but also figuring out a clean UI and pattern controls for a toy with X/Y/Z axis and rotation around those axis and separate vibration is going to be a major challenge.

QIUI - I'm only planning on supporting the Little Devil but even that looks to be a challenge. I've taken a few attempts already at reverse engineering the protocol but so far have been unsuccessful.

OSSM - I still want to continue working on supporting the new code base of the OSSM and improve the Bluetooth message format.

Upcoming Plans - Friends List

I've started laying the ground work for supporting having a friends list and getting notifications when your friends have started a public session.

Upcoming Plans - Guide Updates

A lot has changed in XToys and the documentation hasn't been updated all year. So I'm going to go back through and update everything. I'll also add guides on how to connect through to HiveMQ/Home Assistant/Mosquitto/etc.
