Great episode. I love that we (kinda) get to see how Johan works his way into peoples lives and minds, showing them little flaws in the people around them making them reveal things about them, that he uses to make them despise his targets enough to do his killings for him.
Kenzo is a man on a Mission now and he’s got the resolve so it takes some serious shit to rattle him, also like you said he is still a good kind hearted man but he has to be strong to stop the monster,
I really like that the story is set in Germany and that Urasawa seemed to make a lot of research into the time period (the East German state police fucking over the citizens, people that worked for the government trying to profit even after the fall of the Wall), it’s really cool seeing anime take on stories set in European countries and doing it so faithfully (the “Heidi” anime adaption comes to mind also).

Urasawa does such a great job with the characters he creates. They're all really memorable in my opinion. You really don't know if or when they'll reappear in the story either which makes things more interesting.
