My biggest problem with the story are someone is about to be/gets shot fake outs, I’m almost finished with the series but in both anime and manga the trope gets way over used and it kinda looses it’s luster after the fourth or fifth time. I really hated Eva early on but she’s easily one of my favorite characters in the entire story. She was a terrible person but I blame most of that on her garbage father and her up bringing, she does actually love Tenma but she’s so used to using people that she can’t really express her emotions. The me the story isn’t just about Kenzo’s hunt for the monster but about the monster that is inside all of us too. Eva is a prime example of that, she already has changed quite a bit from the beginning but every now and again she has these moments where that evil, petty personality rears it’s ugly head again but it’s mostly to mask her more vulnerable feelings.

It really takes its time sometimes on the main story progression, but every episode feels meaningful and the characters get so well developed. Eva especially has already gotten quite the range of emotions and perspectives.
