2020-09-14 00:56:42 +0000 UTCI won't go into depth regarding the debate about whether the OVA/ movie are canon because I'd be forced to delve slightly into Steins;Gate 0 - and it has already been debated quite extensively in the discord! But I will say there are valid reasons to consider both non-canon (not least neither are part of the VN). And personally I do view it that way. Although I love both as 'extra' content! Another great reaction!

2020-09-13 19:20:14 +0000 UTCBoth the movie and the OVA are kinda considered "anime canon" they both aren't based on the original material, but the creator was involved on the storyline and it fits really well with the story. People doesn't consider the movie canon because it breaks some of the fundamental rules of time travel previously established. That said, there is no oficial statement saying if it's canon or not. I love the movie, to me it's canon. :D Great reaction, this OVA is always fun to watch :D

2020-09-13 16:36:10 +0000 UTCThe movie isn't canon. But imo I feel like it doesn't matter if its canon or not. This was made purely for Steins Gate fans who wanted more story and more Okabe x Kurisu. It was enjoyable for what it was. OVA is canon tho
