Thanks Stefinitely! I am excited for the next arc. Take care!

I saw that, but I understood what you were saying. One of my favorite aspects of a good anime is how it explores the antagonists motivations. Hunter X Hunter has definitely delivered on that so far. Thanks Derrick, take care!

The Zen Reaction

This arc is my absolute favorite, glad I got to watch your reactions, and looking forward to Greed Island as well!

Another reason I love Togashi's writing: it's totally viable to say that Paku's fortune about facing a choice between trust and betrayal in a small room could definitely apply to the scene right after the boss is captured, because it's when she makes her decision to "betray" the Spider by prioritizing Chrollo's survival that her fate is "set". However, it can also be true that the choice in question was actually when she met back up with the Troupe. Betray them by saving herself and never speaking of Kurapika - which would actually probably lead to Phinks tearing her head off, so she'd be better off running. Or trust them with "all my memories... my feelings" and die doing so. I love this because the meaning changes over the last two episodes. Initially, based on the fortune's wording, you think Paku will die in disgrace as a traitor to the group, having put one member over the group. But by the end, the fortune has flipped and she dies a hero who saved her leader and gave her friends the gift of knowledge - which by the way, includes ALL pertinent info on Kurapika's abilities that Gon and Killua knew. Chain Jail, Arbiter Little Finger, Emperor Time, basically everything we the viewer know. Though I guess they wouldn't know about Healing Thumb. Oh, thank goodness lol. Pakunoda is one of my favourite characters, and I personally think her themes of friendship in this arc hit harder than Gon and friends' do. But I usually prefer the antagonist's perspective, so I'm biased. EDIT: Screwed up Pakunoda's name with Kurapika's and kind of contradicted my own opinion lol.

Paku definitely deserved the shades

Felipe Aranda

Easily my favorite arc, incredible writing and good pacing

I would recommend checking out the Hunter X Hunter (1999) version ending of the Phantom Troupe/York New Arc. It's the same outcome but with a different interpretation/rendition. In many ways, I favor how that was executed over the 2011 adaptation. Maybe, you can make it a bonus reaction for patrons.

And so ends one of my favorite arcs!
