Of course, the twin symbolism with the two monster makes perfect sense, now the book seems even more mysterious to me. Thanks Napkin, hope you are well, take care!

You hit the nail on the head about the importance of identity/names, and the storybook will become more and more important as we go forward and learn more about the twins' origins. Idk if it's ever explicitly explained but I always interpreted the western monster who accepted its lack of identity as representing nina, while "johan" becomes increasingly destructive in his aimless journey without a name. It's also important that Roberto notes how johan changed his mind about the plan. The moment where he fainted with the storybook actually marked a very important turning point in his motivations, from only creating chaos to something slightly more complicated. Anyways I cannot wait to see the rest, really enjoying your reactions and reflection on this series

Finally the picture book! What a disturbing story for a children's book lol, and it fits perfectly.
