Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 1 Early Access

Not sure what you mean by this, Matterfied as it makes no sense. Of course the budget matters. You wouldn't pour all time and effort into paying employees to perfect one episode, like this one, when you could be spending more of the money paying the employees to make the later parts, like fights, way better looking. If budget isn't an issue at all in the slightest they would've been able to make the titans non-CG and bring more people on the team/hire outsiders. There's also LITERALLY the director saying they strictly outsourced the CG for this episode, meaning they're obviously pouring more of the budget and time of the employees into making chapters 100-105. Hate to be that guy, but the budget really does play a big part despite what you might think.

I hate to be that guy, but the "budget" doesn't really play a big part as you might think when it really comes down to it.

Matter

Attack on Titan is back in style! I was pretty worried about the announcement that titans would mainly be CG, but so far it looks fine for the most part. I can definitely deal with it if it stays at least at this level of quality in general. It looks the best when they move around fast, but becomes a slideshow when doing slow movements so that's why I think the beast titan, in my opinion, looked the worst. Personally, I'd give episode 1 a solid 9.5/10 because the rest (besides some of the janky CG) was perfect for me. Background art, general 2D animation, art style, OST, directing & voice acting were all literal perfection. Hopefully they are saving most of the budget for the upcoming big fight moments (not gonna say what or when to not spoil anyone). I hope the animation & background art quality doesn't drop when we get further in. Looking forward to seeing your reactions every week! I love it already! Also as far as I've seen from leakers, it's gonna be 16 episodes at first which will be able to cover only about 2/3-ish of the manga material we have left so the rest will either be adapted as a part two or end up as movies (which is undecided at this time, but definitely one of the two).

I just love how the Eldians of Marley are introduced as viewpoint characters. Adds such a nice layer to the narrative. Really looking forward to seeing how Zeke and Reiner will develop, too. I think I figured who the guy at the end is after a rewatch here lol. Dunno for sure as an anime-only viewer but ... I think the hair color + jawline + height combo pretty much confirms it.
