If you're still looking for something in the romance drama/comedy area, I'd highly recommend High Score Girl. Great series if you love retro games or grew up in the time of games in the early 90s. One of my favorites Another sort of romance themed anime but more on the side of mech action is the series Eureka Seven. Excellent series with a great soundtrack. If you like the science fiction aspect but not feeling mechs, there's a series called Planetes that's pretty interesting. It's about a group of people who collect the garbage left in space. Which is a lot more dramatic than it probably sounds There's a bunch more I could recommend, but these three I haven't seen many react to (in comparison to most everything else that gets recommended)

How about the Monogatari series? I've never seen it myself but I've heard great things about it, watching it alongside you should be fun. EDIT: Btw, I've heard the order in which to watch it is confusing, but I bet someone here can show you the ropes.

I'd recommend Kaiji for a shorter series, or Legend of the Galactic Heroes for a longer one. The Monogatari series is also one of the best series out there, so if you want something really cool, unique & entertaining I'd recommend that as well. Thanks for all the videos!
