FRONTLINE COMBAT

Totenkomf vs the wild-stain GARM & The Aggregate CANIS binary program [Geri/Freki].

The hunter/killer pair [Geri/Freki] are of a controlled genetic stock originally bred from ancient FENRIS samples taken before the Gleipnir censorship and later "deluded" by the Aesir breeding program to create loyal hounds for the Godheads. Breeding the wild CANIS out of any hound can never be fully done. The hound is the bulwark between the beast gods of the wildlands and the "civilized" godheads in their great walled empires.

The WILD HUNTS which brought the Gods and Demons together in their mutual bloodlust to hunt down great beasts (Boars/WYRMS/Abominations) were always held together by loyal hounds of both Gods and Devils.

Comments

The variety of mutations from the ancient CANIS entities are very cool to see. The icy nobility of GERI and FREKI compared to the gribbly uncontrolled variations of the European hounds. Still rooting to see Bran and Sceólang in there somewhere!

Wintermute

The way I understand it, FENRIS samples taken before GLEIPNIR must be hard to come by, making any creatures made from that genetic stock a rarity. The genes from GERI/FREKI were then used to mass-produce hounds for various factions. Even domesticated, their CANIS instincts are never truly gone, just suppressed. Not only are these hounds used as guards, but also in WILD HUNTS, where both Demonic and "Divine" parties can sate their lust at the expense of the great beasts of the wild.
