Zen Exclusive - Bakemonogatari Episode 12 Reaction

One of my favorite episode of monogatari great reaction no other series like this!

Hitagi's voice actor really killed it. Really impressed. She just sounds like exactly how much I would imagine Hitagi to sound like. That's real skill.

My favorite Monogatari Episode! The line of "just being there" has even more meaning in this context of the story because as Hitagi said earlier in ep5, there were many people that knew of her problems but there was only one that acted like Koyomi did. Suruga tried, but in the end she got hurt herself and lost focus of what should have mattered. Koyomi did not let her push him away, be it physically or emotionally, he endured those defense mechanisms and cracked the (crab)shell - "You really have a high tolerance.", were her words back then. And for being that person that tries to help you even if it seems like an unreasonable thing to do for strangers, like he did for all the girls so far, and keeps doing for Hitagi, he gets rewarded by being able to see the person heal right infront of him. Hitagi herself knows how hard she is to deal with and that change doesn't happen over night, so this episode is really important for that context as a reminder: "the path you chose to go with me isn't a dead end, I embrace this change and hope you stay with me to see the person I will become along the way".

One of the best episodes of Monogatari series

Surprise Senjougahara episode time! This is actually the episode where the original TV broadcast ended, which is why there was no preview. The following 3 episodes were released online over the next few months. Definitely one of my favourite anime episodes of all time, there's so much in it from beginning til end, mostly giving us the comedy and fun dialogue we've come to expect from Araragi and Senjougahara, but also at the same time setting up several lines to be repeated at the climax of the episode. Then the conversation with her father and then the date are just incredible, they show Senjougahara's growth and how while her recovery isn't just instant it is progressing at a good pace. Its wonderful and a lot more realistic than some other shows where characters will instantly get over some trauma or something. Then the date itself manages to solidify the relationship between Araragi and Senjougahara soooo much, before this there wasn't really anything besides their conversations, but this date solidifies them so much as a couple which I love. Way too many shows sideline the romance to the end, having the characters just show a bit of interest before having them match up at the end not showing anything. Monogatari establishes a solid relationship early into the series and executes it absolutely masterfully. The episode is just filled with a ton of amazing metaphors, direction, and other things including a wonderful tie in with the ED and I just love it so much. Regarding your remark about Senjougahara loving to play with kanji, that's more just Nisioisin loving to do it and pushing it onto any character he can, he's mostly done it with her and Oshino so far but you'll be seeing a lot of that coming from many different characters. And yes, it is Hasegawa and of course also Youpi from HxH.
