I think aside from Kizu this is the longest arc in terms of runtime, and as far as the physical books go the one for this arc is just a bit shorter than the one with Kanbaru and Nadeko's arcs from Bake and it's quite a bit longer than the one with Senjougahara and Mayoi's ones and also longer than the one with Hanekawa's one. Sadly I've not gotten my hands on Kizu yet but I think novel wise this arc is also quite a bit longer than that.
And yeah we called it a cow lick too, so it's not just you.

Kaiki's a great character, I'm glad you find him interesting. His "domain" where he faced off with Karen is actually a room in a karaoke bar - in the book, it's described as actually quite small and cramped, with Kaiki's ominous presence creating a suffocating atmosphere. But Shaft's adaptation took more artistic license, as they usually do, and created a pretty cool environment that managed to convey a lot through visual storytelling, which is what a good anime adaptation should do imo. Looking forward to the conclusion of this arc, great reaction as always.
