Can't believe we're here. It felt a little weird to me at first having the drunk shoot Johan, but of course its really brilliant writing after all, for them to completely change the question at the end- from "would tenma kill johan?" to "would tenma save him, again, even knowing what he knows now?"
Also- Urasawa has always been interested in the ethics of self defense and when, if ever, it is "okay" to take a life; and in this immediate situation it could be argued that Wim's dad had more of a right to shoot Johan than anyone else.
Too bad the series is ending but I'm really glad I got to re-experience this here with everyone, appreciate the nuanced reactions as always and I'm glad you ended up really liking the story
