OH MY GOD IT'S HAPPENING! Say hello to my fav piece of media ever, It's such a wonderful story of finding a place to belong in and has some deeply personal themes that resonate strongly with me. Rei is a fantastic protagonist and the Kawamoto sisters ARE TO DIE FOR! Probably my favorite characters in all of anime. So looking forward to experiencing this show again with you Zen :)

I've only watched the first 6 episodes before (unfortunately had to stop due to circumstances) so definitely very excited to watch this with you. This first episode has already hit me a lot harder than it did when I first watched it, the way the tonal shifts are used is just incredible. Worth noting that aside from just being animated by Shaft like Monogatari is it's also got the same director (also the same one as Madoka and Sayounara Zetsubou Sensei among many other great shows) and while the visuals are certainly different from any of those shows you can see Shinbou's directorial flair for sure.

Yeah, this a really great series. It's animated by Studio Shaft, so thats why it looks really great.

We have a really similar top 5, I just haven't watched Monster yet.

Gintama has a special place in my heart but this has to be the most consistently amazing anime I've ever seen (both visually and plot wise). The manga is just incredible too! This is one of my favorite anime and manga of all time. I'm glad that it won the poll. One neat thing is that the end card for every episode is done by a prolific mangaka so they're all worth looking at.
