Which funnily enough is what both Hanekawa and Senjogahara did, this series loves that trope but also uses hair as an insight to someone's personality or situation quite often and it's got some general importance. Aside from making fun of that trope I feel like it's a great way to show how impulsive Karen is and how she's not one to regret or overthink massive changes, Tsukihi's hair changing about every time we see her works well for her volatile personality IMO. Araragi growing his hair out to hide the bite he gets from Shinobu works well as a metaphor for his shame over Kizu as he's literally hiding his wound.

Yeah the monogatari openings are really well known, especially this one and the one that features Sengoku from Bakemonogatari.

These subs are fine in most parts but the naming thing about Yozuru is definitely pretty iffy unfortunately. I understand that in Japanese, there is no "du" sound and it is simply just "zu" with a soft z. But I think this is one of the few places where localization is pretty important. The thing with Karen cutting her hair with the key is just mocking the trope of cutting one's hair in the event of something powerful, like moving on from adolescences.

I really can't understand how whoever did these subs managed to mess up Kagenui Yozuru's name as Kagenui Yoduru.
