It's used here to save space by not having to have the OP/ED in every video file. I would recommend using VLC if aren't already. It's the most popular video player and widely supported. I personally don't use it myself but it's the easiest to use out of the box, it should work nicely :)

Watching the OP and ED before and after is a good compromise, though fixing the problem for the future would be best. Sadly they are like this for the rest of the series but there is definitely a way to fix it, it's something to do with your video player or the location of the files.
