This episode gives a pretty solid taste for how the sillier side of this show tends to be, Mako's antics being the biggest example. The show in general seems to have taken some stylistic choices from western cartoons particularly slapstick comedies.
Since you talked about the title I might as well explain the joke in it, キルラキル Kiru Ra Kiru when looking at the double meaning with kiru as the English word kill and the Japanese word to wear can be loosely read as "Dressed to Kill", a fairly appropriate name for a clothing centered battle anime. There's quite a few more puns that tie directly in to the main theme of the show, but I'll leave those for later on rather than just explaining too much at the start.
