Quick story. Back when this aired originally, during the episode where Mako gets her 2 star uniform, there was a theory on Reddit that said Mako would die on episode 22, because you could see a reflection on her glasses when she is adding on her calculator that read 22 I DIE which is the number 310155 mirrored. So when episode 22 came out and we saw Mako getting sliced in half, it had an even more heart stopping effect.

2021-12-16 20:53:58 +0000 UTCI really love the moment between Satsuki and Ryuko where Satsuki admits she was just using the same methods as Ragyo and that that was wrong. Tying that back with the larger themes from before she was fighting fashion with fashion, fascism with fascism and it didn't work out. We saw the cruelty under Satsuki's regime in the first half of the show which would have certainly been justified in the end if it were the only way to save the world but it ended up failing, and now the only road forward is with the freedom loving nudists.
