I read somewhere that Amestrians have actually never seen a panda, they have no idea what that is since it's not part of the Amestris' fauna. May is most likely the first person from Xing to come visit with her panda best friend. The colors and the size of it make all Amestrians think it's just a weird-looking cat. Honestly, I gave up on the Game of Thrones books. The TV-show exhausted me. The next book might get published in the near future, but I have huge doubts about the last one. George isn't getting any younger and I'm sure he needs so much more time for the grand finale, to make sure everything makes sense and there are as few plot holes as possible. Not to mention he probably had to make some changes after the TV-show's ending and the audience's feedback. He's in a tight spot and I don't expect ASOIAF to have a real, official ending, unless he gives his manuscripts to someone else to continue in his place. Great series nonetheless.
