The ED not only continues the one from season 1, but it also continues the conversation that they had on the roof watching the moon in season 2. Shirogane said that he would drink the elixir and get Kaguya back no longer how long it took. This ED is essentially him drinking the elixir and waiting until he could go get Kaguya back :)
