Very happy you enjoyed this primer... This might be my favorite series of all time. Over time, the cast builds and expands along with the universe as different ideals are pushed to their limits... There are also tons of famous and experienced voice actors that either get their start or further their careers here, like Ryo Horikawa (Vegeta, Captain Falcon in Smash Bros, Heiji in Conan) as Reinhard, Norio Wakamoto (King Charles vi Britannia in Code Geass, Cell in DBZ, Matsudaira in Gintama) as Oskar von Reuenthal, and even Unsho Ishizuka (RIP) as Job Trunicht, the Secretary of State of the FPA we saw on TV after the 4th Battle of Tiamat (Old Joseph in Jojo, Hohenheim in FMAB, and Prof. Oak). Anyway, I love Space Operas and a running joke among some fans is that this deserves the name Star Wars more than the original franchise lol

Yes you can skip the first 2 episodes if you watch Overture to a New War (Arata Naru Tatakai no Overture). I was prety sure that was the case, but I just skimmed through the OVA and the first 2 episodes to make sure because it has been a while since I watched them and the OVA covers everything.

Yes the series is way better than this OVA, even as a fan of the series I did not find this any where near as good as the actual series. I think after the first few episodes of the series is where you will know if it's for you or not.

I have to say I was surprisingly disappointed with this OVA ('surprisingly' as it won the poll). Really struggled to get to the end of it. Is the series better than this?

What do you mean? He is actually starting the series. Next Wednesday he will upload the reaction to the next OVA and the Wednesday after that he is starting the actual series! 😊

I have watched LOTGH before as well as the new adaptecion that is still coming out and I am a big fan of both. This is the first time I watched this OVA though. I can't say that it was bad but I don't think that it's a good indicator of the quality of the rest of the siries. It was a good enough introdaction to the setting and some characters but I think that the next OVA or the first few episodes do a good job at that as well. Of course I'm glad that I got a chance to watch this OVA finaly so thanks for the reaction! Can't wait for the rest of the series!
