Thanks Keith for funding this series it is a favorite of mine too it just hits you right in the feels with so many of its episodes at least for me they did such a good job making the characters relatable and developed them enough that your really rooting for them the whole time.

The sea part of the voyage begins in the next episode (don't worry, they will arrive in Antarctica eventually :-) Had your host family previously hosted students? Sounds like the western style bed was specifically for that purpose. To be honest a futon would probably have been more practical - at least that can be rolled up out of the way when not in use. Bet the use of the bathroom was tightly choreographed in the mornings :-)
