2022-10-04 23:47:44 +0000 UTCYou know it's a bad sign when the antagonist has a flashback I really like Ouken as a villain, he reminds me of the dark souls games. For those who don't know in dark souls the curse of the undead prevents humans from truly dying, upon death they just reform at the last bonfire they visited. But when an undead loses the will, drive and motivation to go on unliving they slowly lose their minds and become hollow. The hollows wander the land no longer capable of human speech and emotions, but what they haven't lost is their skills and power, some are passive, but most are not. They attack anyone who comes near. For everyone is just a question when, not if, they turn hollow. The number of hollows in the world can only grow as the ones that exist can never die and never regain their humanity. And in a meta gaming point of view every single player who has played dark souls has at one point put down the controller and never played the game again, their characters lie abandoned in that world, no longer driver forward by a purpose or a will, just an empty shell, a hollow.

2022-09-29 17:06:22 +0000 UTCOne of the only things that confuses me in this series (despite the magic lol) is oukens magic sword. the only reason I can discern as to how his sword can also be healed with blood is one of two things. 1. Ouken has wounds constantly open on his body so blood can be readily used to grab pieces of the sword. 2. Ouken has imbued the sword with his own blood. Regardless of the reason, Ouken is such an interesting character and Im glad you are enjoying every bit of this series!
