It's over! I miss it already. :-( This is one of my favorite episodes. Some funny and moving scenes - The one where Shirase is so happy to be surrounded by penguins, but at the same time complaining about the smell - The farewell speech - The moment on the boat where Shirase receives the last message from her mother - and the final scene where Megumi goes on her own adventure. Great stuff. I doubt you noticed but in the very final scene, showing the outside of Kimari's house, in the bay window there is a tiny reflection of a plane flying above - a symbol of continuing journeys maybe? I think that's such a nice touch to add and shows the animators really cared about the quality of this show. Thanks for the reaction and for the Japan stories. They were really mean to you in Tokyo though; putting in two airports just to confuse you - maybe they wanted you to stay?
