2023-01-22 20:47:38 +0000 UTCI can't remember which episode it was, but in the first season around the time when All Might was training Deku before he started at the school All Might mentioned his injury and said that the incident that caused it was covered up. Midoriya said that he remembered hearing something about it, he knew that All Might had been injured in a fight with a villain, but he didn't know how badly. Even for Deku, who knows pretty much everything there is to know about All Might, he didn't know much about it, and All Might also didn't tell Midoriya about the details of how it happened or who did it, just that the injury dramatically lowered the time that he could be in his hero form. In this episode there's a quick line from Gran Torino where he mentions "the current age, for better or worse, is one of suppression", he's talking about the suppression of villainous ideas, and anything that could shatter the peace that All Might created. Imagine how powerful the knowledge that All Might is severely injured would be for the recruitment of villains.
