The music in 86 has always been terrific, but I did also feel as if it was especially incredible during this episode. Hiroyuki Sawano never disappoints (among anime you've seen, he's also the composer for AOT). As for your question at the end, I also don't remember any such communication amongst the Legion in part 1. Since I watched it twice (once as a rewatch with you) I'm guessing I probably would have noticed and remembered if there had been. Also just wanna say that while I don't know about anyone else, I definitely am watching along and eagerly anticipate each of your reactions in the series!
