I really love the detail of Toph not looking at Uncle in the eye, or even really looking at him at all when she's standing next to him at 5:17 , you know, the whole blind thing. It would have been so easy for an animator to overlook a small thing like that.

While the last episode more directly parallels Empire Strikes Back, this episode definitely thematically parallels it. The line about there being good in Zuko as well as the second season ending in a loss are the biggest points.
When Azula and Iroh are both trying to convince Zuko to make a choice, it mirrors the dream sequence where we saw Zuko on the throne. There were 2 dragons doing the same thing, with the voices of Azula and Iroh.
Azula was also fantastic this episode. Despite it not technically being anime by our definition, she broke 2 classic anime rules. First, she denied the 1v1 duel with Zuko, instead just capturing him, and second, attacking the protagonist during their power up/transformation sequence.
It's also now the last we've heard from Mako, as Greg Baldwin takes over for Iroh next season. May we forever remember him and his amazing work in Avatar and elsewhere.
