I don’t know for sure but I am assuming that the anime layers Shigaraki and AFO’s voices to help understand when he is being controlled. The characters dont hear this AFO layering, so they are just hearing Shigarakis voice. Just in case you were confused about Spinners reaction haha

While it can be a general name for the Greek underworld, it can also more specifically mean the deepest layer of the underworld, where even the Titans were locked away. Seems fitting for a prison to keep the most dangerous people. It's elaborated on a lot more in Vigilantes, but we learn this episode that Midnight was actually Aizawa and Mic's senior back in school when Mic calls her Kayama-senpai when referring to her this episode. Midnight's death hurts a lot more after having read Vigilantes. She was a good person who really cared about her students. Technically this next bit is a very minor Vigilantes spoiler, but Midnight is actually the reason Aizawa ended up as a teacher. It's actually my birthday today, and I've managed to end up with COVID, so seeing this upload pop up makes my day a bit better.
