Love this episode. Get to see more of Gabrielle's character arch. Looking back at baby gab's quest for vengeance in return of callisto to now is crazy. Now she IS capable. Has the skills to kill in cold blood...and is choosing not too. Gabrielle's core morals are incredibly solid...and I think thats one of the things xena loves most about her . And Xena dreaming/hallucinating gabrielle dancing for her to get her through the torture scene...doesnt get much more textual than that.

Jo Lo is one of the most strikingly beautiful women I have ever seen on television. I have searched for other credits, but none emerge; also, searching for Jo Lo leads to a lot of Jennifer Lopez results. ... This was a little evocative of the HtLJ season 1 episode "Gladiator," perhaps even down to the music. ... It would have been nice to see the reunion of Lilla and Sarah, but what can you do?
