2021-09-20 17:13:24 +0000 UTC1. Asterios hit the nail on the head calling this show “horny wish fulfillment”. It really plays the horny factor in order to turn it on its head towards the end. The story is very meta when you analyze it. 2. Asuka is the one who constantly called Shinji a pussy. But mostly “Shinji is a pussy” isn’t in the text but: a) shown to be a projection of Shinji’s insecurities and the foundation of the plot, and b) what the fans say. You’ll get why we call him a pussy by the way you get to the end. 3. Shinji didn’t say “LCL is gross”. He said “this smells like blood”. Put a pin on it because it’s an important plot point that will come up over and over again. 4. The ending is divisive but not objectively “bad”. Mostly fans just don’t like the message of the ending cuz they feel personally attacked. But the message itself is very clever and many people defend it. PS. Congratulations
