JUNE COMMUNITY Q&A

DEADLINE IS 6/28/23

---

Hi Friends, welcome to this month's Q&A!

In the comments of this post, I encourage you to post any questions you may have regarding producing - questions about sound design, mixing and mastering, organization, etc.  Towards the end of the month, I will make a video going over as many questions as I can and demonstrating the answers for you all.

For example - say you just can't get your muddy-sounding kick to sit right in the mix.  Feel free to ask me how I process mine, and I will show you exactly that.  Another example - say you are struggling to get -4 LUFS out of your tracks.  I will give you some tips to help you progress towards that standard.  A final example - say you are curious how I made the bass sound in "Pack a Punch".  I will do my best to explain that process to you!

This post is open to the public, so you don't have to be a patron to leave a question, though the video will be for patrons only.  Ask away - I'm excited to begin this process to help you all!

Hi sorry I'm late!! I kinda forgot but hope you can still do my question :) would you recommend releasing singles or ep's? I just released my first EP and am wondering if I should start working on another one or just go back to singles. Thanks! :)

Hi coach, I recently aquired ozone 10 and am a bit confused on how to monitor stereo imaging. My span shows very similar to other tracks, but when I monitor it using ozone it shows blinking red on the sides, is this an issue? Also, the imager push from the master chain seems to have an amount knob on ozone 10 next to the four bands, did old ozones have this on maximum? (Just wondering your thoughts)!

I coach, I honestly feel stuck in my musical journey. I didn't have enough time these days, I wonder what question I should ask myself to achieve the right balance, to be present and aware in the process of making music. I know this is a difficult question and I don't expect a definitive answer. At the same time just wondering why I'm making music is too vague. I know I do it because I like it and because I want to do something of my own, but I can never find myself in the right conditions to do it. Thanks, any answer you can give.

I was wondering how u make ur flows look fully complete and not repetitive ?
