waow its been a while since i got area concepts done


map design is probably one of my greatest weaknesses. I'm good at writing stories and characters, but I have a hard time imagining a clear image of what their surroundings should be, especially if it cant be abstract.
Right now, I'm trying to take general location ideas and smash them together with some sort of defined aesthetic.
This one for example is a castle main hall. It was initially gonna be a standard fairytale kinda deal, but i like the concept im going with now a lot more.

I've always been a big frutiger aero fan and was kinda sad i couldnt think of a way to incorperate it into my game, so mixing it with the castle is very exciting. This whole area takes place during the early 2000s, so it makes sense why it would appear the way it does. Excited to make the tilesets!!
