map making
Added 2024-09-02 13:32:10 +0000 UTCI'm finally moving on to making the larger explorable maps, and the process has been very interesting.
Initially i planned on getting most map assets done before even making the map, but that would work well at all. SInce im still new to designing areas, im very unfamiliar with tileset sizes. I have no feeling about what feels short and long, so i kept sketching this layout out and made the map bigger and bigger, until it felt appropriate.
The next step is adding all necessary dialogue, testing how long it takes to play through that, and only then will I go back to drawing out and adding all of the decorations.
That's at least the plan for now. It's really fun!
