(hit me up on discord if you wanna let me know)

2025-01-05 09:34:15 +0000 UTCthanks man! i set my levels purely by ear. the Span Plus preset i made makes it very easy to get sounds to sit in the right ballpark, but its hard to gauge how loud the high frequencies need to be. the sub is easy because its easy to see, but the highs need to balance out with the lows without clipping too hard. so i basically try to see how loud my sub can be without compromising the rest of the song too much, and then i go from there. usually after that step its more about turning down the sub, and slightly messing with the levels of other things. using a relevant reference helps a lot too! if you wanna spar about this some more feel free to join the discord :) <3

2025-01-05 09:31:52 +0000 UTCamazing video, thanks for sharing first of all! but I have a question, how do you set your levels (apart from using your ears) as sometimes I hit the ceiling very fast, and it rarely happens but I don't know why. Also for your template: I do have a template for sound design and one for music production so that I can easily get started depending on what I want to do! I really love your usage of key commands! what might be easier for you in Ableton would be to have 3 different side chains and then sending the groups to them so you can also easily change the side chain for some creative effects! You do that with In channels and then having the different side chains. After that you simply need to change the routing of the group, that's it ! hope it helps

2025-01-01 23:34:14 +0000 UTCRegarding sidechaining.. are you opposed to using tools specific for sidechaining like Shaperbox, Duck, etc, compared to compressors??
