Important Update on my life/work

I posted about the rough state of things in December, and things are- for better or worse- moving forward.

1. Lina and I separating:
As previously mentioned, due to conflicting mental health and logistic issues, Lina and I will be officially ending our marriage on May 1st, intentionally just after our 9th wedding anniversary. Our marriage was somewhat of an experiment as it was, she being mostly lesbian, having more complex and ever evolving needs than what I am capable to meet, and some of my quirks and living space requirements being hard for her. Then the two random evictions that were beyond our control, her quitting her job for mental health reasons, the pandemic, my year of screaming in pain from the eczema & red skin syndrome, and her therapy unearthing years of repressed issues that she needs a different environment to solve. Even with our couples therapy, we just can't fix living together anymore.

We are still amazing friends, and very close. We are still each other's favorite people, but in order to preserve that love and once in a lifetime friendship, we can't be husband and wife or roommates.

2. Lina will still collab.
Lina will continue to be the voice of Betty and complete any roles that she agreed to before the upcoming separation date (when she can). And I will likely still hire her in future for other projects. She will still be at least partially involved in my work, and I in hers where we can.

3. Lina's move
She will likely be moving out sometime in May, to live with her two romantic partners. They want to move in with a 4th mutual friend a few states away, but in the meantime might live nearby while the 4-person home is secured and prepped. No doubt, this is gonna be a rough April and May at least for Lina and I.

4. Gumroad, and my shaky income
As you may know, on the 15th, Gumroad changed policy to kowtow to PayPal's intolerance stance against adult content makers/artists. This keeps happening everywhere, big card companies like MasterCard and PayPal think they can dictate what legal goods/services we can buy. There is a potential class-action lawsuit in the works, and potentially a petition for laws protecting our seller/consumer rights.

In the meantime, Gumroad was about 10% of my annual imcome... Income I need to survive (I don't really have disposable income). So I will need a similar, more tolerant place to sell my nsfw art from my notebooks and other art packages.

5. My Business and art
If you don't already know, my Patreon, art, etc. are 100% of my income. Lina leaving my household will not make things really any cheaper. My rent is very low for this region, and I will not be moving, as I'd likely not save any money and would only pay more for far less of the space I desperately need.

When I have less going on in my life externally, and can separate my work from my chores/relationships, I tend to get far more work done. So I am planning on being more regularly productive again once I am living alone. My animations, color projects, new programs I am training on, etc, had been on hold for a while. But I should be returning to it all... after the dust settles.

6. In the meantime:
Life is still as hard as ever, and is poised to get harder in the coming months.

I thank you all for your already ongoing patience as I deal with all this and hopefully turn the page on this chapter of my life.

I will continue to do my art, my animation, and any other creative pursuits that fulfill me, for as long as I am capable of doing so. These things are my passion, as is making people happy by doing them.

7. Respect and Support
I would ask that you respect Lina and I during this hard time, and not offer unsolicited advice. If you feel the need to comment here or at Lina, please just brief words of support. And we want to remind you that there are no sides to take here; Our separation is difficult, but amicable. Lina and I will remain friends and still love each other.

I also still need your continued financial support where possible, for those who want to see me continue my work.

Thank you so much.
I love you all,
Fox
