"Some things really must be seen to be believed, don't they?

"One of the most commonly cited aspects of Artos, the Bear Deity, is the variety of the forms it allows itself to take. This particular deity chooses an avatar, you see, and while many other primordial members of the pantheon have strict requirement for representation in the flesh, Artos tends to only have one - the very species listed in their name.

"Studying the movements of this particular deity was my expertise, you see, and when I had heard a rumor that Artos had once again chosen a champion of their light, I simply had to witness their new form for myself. I have a vast library of arcane texts at my disposal you see, and while exhaustive, the process of finding the correct summoning ritual wasn't difficult.

"Inscribing the proper patterns & runes on the ground took mere moments, and gathering the correct offering materials was similarly easy -- a white candle, a pinch of salt, a small piece of silver, a few wild berries, and a small cake were all it took to complete the material components.

"What would have proven more time-consuming was waiting for a full moon - however, as luck would have it, my curiosity had been piqued less than a week before this most ideal phase of the moon. This time to think allowed my mind to wander, this meandering leading to speculation. There had been many other Bears in the past - Pyrimous, a strong, tall grizzly, had been the most recent avatar of Artos, with his blazing reds and warm, earthen tones. His was a kind temperament, but his ordination had marked a more aggressive tone to Artos' power, leading many to take greater caution in seeking his aid or guidance.

"I found myself musing over the possibilities when the time finally arrived. Midnight. The metallic chimes of my grandfather clock filled the air as the light over the summoning circle began to glow a bright, soft white...

"And suddenly, before I could react, I was there! Floating gently in space, I looked around in awe - for this world was, for the first time in my life, a cool, deep blue. White clouds moved lazily through the seemingly infinite void, and it took mere seconds to realize that I was, in fact, not floating. I was being held in the massive blue claws of non other than the new embodiment of Artos themself.

"A polar bear. Far larger than my own home, their curves adorned in blue silks and silver accoutrements, the silver crown tucked neatly over their ears. Their eyes, each glowing orb easily larger than me, was fixed on my comparatively diminutive form, and I tensed in their gaze.

"Until, of course, they laughed. A gentle, kind laugh that filled the space between us.

"' I was wondering who would find me first. Welcome, little one. Ask anything you desire, and know that you are welcome here.'

"Their words were a comfort, the feminine tones washing over me along with a sense of calm, a sense of ease...

"I couldn't help but smile. Even after so many years of study, there was so much more I could learn!"

A touch more lore behind Goddess!Bailey!

I was planning an audio piece to release alongside this one, but due to technical difficulties & scheduling conflicts, this project will take a touch longer to see the light of day. That being the case, I hope you enjoy! This was such a delight to work on ^^
