How I write arpeggios for my tracks
Added 2021-03-18 18:51:21 +0000 UTCThere's been many cool requests recently, but a while back I was asked to explain how I approach writing arpeggios in my music. As per usual I went off on some tangents in the video :) (I like talking about these things if you haven't noticed 😅), so I hope the explanation isn't too chaotic.
In short, it boils down to extremely simple chord structures, and layering them with some cool techniques/fast playing. The crazy arpeggios in Kashmir or Baba Yaga are all based on 3 or 4 note chords. It's just a few notes repeated over multiple octaves with some clever technical approaches. Basic music theory dictates which notes work well and I explain it briefly in the video.
