I think Bijou will be safe. She only seems to have animosity towards her sister and hasn't struck me as the type to intentionally harm an innocent animal. Her neighbors, on the other hand... Well, I don't think she'll get physical with them, but gossip can do tremendous damage in the hands of an unassuming old lady.

There's something about even a depiction of a person purposefully harming a dog (or a cat) that just make me rage. If it happened in front of me, I wouldn't be able to predict what I would do to the perpetrator.
