Merchant tier, would you be interested?
Added 2019-06-14 19:50:20 +0000 UTCWe need your help, again :D
Quite a few people have asked if we were going to have a merchant tier, to sell the 3D prints of our files.
We have talked about it with a few people, and we might do it, but we also need to know if people would be interested.
We would proceed this way :
-As long as you pledge for the merchant tier, you can sell the 3D prints on your side. If you stop, or we remove the merchiant tier for X reason, you can't sell the prints anymore.
-You can't modify the file.
-You need to credit us on the site or page you are selling.
This is honestly a bit scary to us, I hope people will be honest and follow the rules accordingly if we end up doing it.

Totally understand of course! I don't expect everyone to join this tier, far from it! We'll have a website pretty soon, and we haven't talked about having the files from it accessible for the merchant tier yet. I know Duncan does it yes. But can be a headache to keep track of who can do it or not. But it's a very good point, I'm not saying we won't do it, just need to think about it. Thanks for the feeback ,really helpful!
2019-06-15 17:26:20 +0000 UTCHave to agree with Kieren's comments. I have a few commercial licenses through Patreon and the majority of them have a larger catalogue available. For your estimated $35 I'd have to pass and wait for you to build up a bigger library of models before I'd be able to recoup the costs. I'd suggest having a website where your files are purchasable independently, that way merchants can pick up the files they've missed in the future :)

2019-06-15 17:17:08 +0000 UTCYes, or with shipping on etsy or something I guess! We totally know that it's for a few people only, totally ok that it's not the majority, we were not going to do it at first, but the demand is ''growing''!
2019-06-14 23:47:24 +0000 UTCPersonally i think merchant tiers are something only foe those who live in high density areas. Someone like me has a good local gaming community but due to living 2000km from nearest city would not be able to make a merchant tier worth it. ... But it is definately a good idea for those operating online stores.

2019-06-14 22:03:51 +0000 UTCWe would like to see this very much as we are doing this stuff as a business and always looking for good products and I can say you both do very nice work and all of us look forward to seeing what you do in the future...so we would back the merchant tier without question at the estimated price point you have stated :) Keep up the amazing work :)

2019-06-14 21:56:46 +0000 UTCTotally understand of course! Depending on your level of pledge you might miss the characters though, if it's a concern for you! Thanks for the nice words :D
2019-06-14 20:53:08 +0000 UTCI have a merchant license with a few other creators. It helps me offset the costs of the hobby. As soon as I saw the quality of your items I looked to see if you offered a merchant tier because I would be interested in the future. If you offered one now I think I might pass for now only because you don't have a good variety of things. In the next 3-4 months as you have more product available, then I would more than likely join that tier. I just woke up so I hope this all makes sense.
2019-06-14 20:50:04 +0000 UTCThanks , appreciated :D
2019-06-14 20:40:53 +0000 UTCAh sorry, wasn't clear I think! -If you are on that tier for 6months, you can sell for 6 months all the models you have gained during this time frame, If you cancel for the 7th, you can't anymore. And by removing I mean, if for X reasons we choose to stop the Merchant tier, people will not be able to sell anymore (and we would say it in advance, of course).
2019-06-14 20:32:52 +0000 UTCIt is a scary tier to be certain, but it will also provide a lot of exposure for you as well. You guys have a quality product.

2019-06-14 20:32:18 +0000 UTCI am curious about the "removing" side, are you saying that the license is only valid for that month's models and once you remove access to them on your end people lose the ability to continue selling them?
