Asking for your opinions!
Added 2019-07-20 20:31:17 +0000 UTCSo far we are doing only supportless miniatures, and some with little pre-generated supports to help.
BUT, would you be ok with some models needing supports, to allow us to have more dynamic and complex poses?
I know this might be more of an issue for FDM people, but waiting to know what you think!
Thanks guys!!!

I’m good either way.

2019-08-01 01:01:32 +0000 UTCI don't mind supports if they're really necessary to create a fantastic model, but I'd prefer most be without them, as it adds steps to create and clean up. Basically, like dry cleaning, I'll do it for a few key items but it's just not worth the bother for everything when there are easier options available.

2019-07-27 21:13:22 +0000 UTCI have no issue with supports
2019-07-22 14:02:36 +0000 UTCNo support!

2019-07-22 11:10:28 +0000 UTCPre-generated supports would be the best of both worlds ;)
2019-07-21 19:10:18 +0000 UTCNo supports for better models!

2019-07-21 18:46:30 +0000 UTCSupportless models are great, but I’d rather have you enjoy expressing your creativity. Make the models look great and then work on tweaking them to require less and less support if you think it’s possible to do without destroying what you already made.

2019-07-21 18:12:52 +0000 UTCYes. Do supports. I have an Ender3 and an Anycubic Photon. I've really enjoyed how the models are turning out. If you use Cura supports, please let us know your settings. Thanks.

2019-07-21 17:52:09 +0000 UTCI print on a CR-10 using Cura 4.1. I also have the auto orientation plugin that helps with models needing supports. I have not had issues with models needing supports so far, so I say go for it.
2019-07-21 14:20:34 +0000 UTCTotally fine with miniatures + supports...bring'em ON!!! 🤩👍

2019-07-21 13:11:29 +0000 UTCHappy for models that need supports, but I have a Form 2, which is like printing in easy mode.

2019-07-21 02:22:01 +0000 UTCI am here because of your models don't need supports or have them integrated. there are MANY sculptors out there that offer epic models, but not many do this without the need for supports. this is what makes your models unique, so PLEASE don't lose that!! pregenerated, sturdy easy to remove supports are fine.

2019-07-21 01:58:41 +0000 UTCA mix would be great! Just got a resin printer and am trying my hand at more challenging prints. Sometimes it's nice to print something and not have to worry about it too!
2019-07-21 00:57:09 +0000 UTCI would say a mix is good. One thing you can try is to make multi part models supportless if you wanted to go that route. However I have some Support Required models that come out AMAZING even on my Ender 3. Check out the Artisan Guild patreon and you will see what I mean. I do like some things to be support free where possible it just helps make a clean mini. However I sponsor you to be a creator and I don't want to limit your creativity. So, I say make what you feel and if it needs supports so be it!
2019-07-20 23:35:18 +0000 UTCSupports are fine if they improve the model

2019-07-20 23:01:00 +0000 UTCThanks for your input :D We'll test one and see how we can manage it!
2019-07-20 22:48:58 +0000 UTCNo problems! We'll try one a bit more complex with still pre-generated supports done myself and see how it goes! I think we can have a good middleground!
2019-07-20 22:48:39 +0000 UTCWith only have an Ender3 to test and it's our main aim. So we'll do pre-generated supports too and see how it goes!
2019-07-20 22:48:07 +0000 UTCWe'll do some with better posing and still pre-generated supports for our FDM friends :D
2019-07-20 22:47:38 +0000 UTCI like the zero supports.

2019-07-20 22:41:28 +0000 UTCI print FDM and have no issues with supports as long as the parts are not too thin, I think if they are stated supportless i have no issues
2019-07-20 22:37:00 +0000 UTCAs long as It will look ok on pla printers fine with me. However making minis without support is your big advantage
2019-07-20 22:27:33 +0000 UTCGo hog wild, man! I have a resin printer and am always looking for more challenging prints.

2019-07-20 22:15:03 +0000 UTCSure it would be more for heroes I guess, NPC and foes can be a bit simplier when they are needed in volume. And even for the ''supports'', I'll still try to add pre-generated ones. We'll test and see how people like it or not!
2019-07-20 21:27:42 +0000 UTCSounds good :D Yeah we'll alternate I think
2019-07-20 21:26:18 +0000 UTCI’m okay with it so long as we still get kinds without them too sometimes.

2019-07-20 21:18:29 +0000 UTCI haven't actually printed any of your models yet, but I think more dynamic models with supports generated by you as part of the STL sounds good. Waiting to get a resin printer by the end of August and then I'll probably be printing like crazy. :D

2019-07-20 21:06:54 +0000 UTCI hear you! Let us try on one of the pirates, I'll add myself pre-generated supports and I'll test it before releasing it, just to see what we can do!
2019-07-20 21:00:01 +0000 UTCHaha got it! Yeah it's often frustrating, mainly for cool heroes, to have a static or limited posing!!!
2019-07-20 20:59:21 +0000 UTCGood! Worth a try then :D
2019-07-20 20:55:51 +0000 UTCI really like that your models don't need supports as they don't need much if any cleaning up when printed. I print on an Ender 3 and they are perfect after I remove the pre done supports . I know this takes alot of extra time to model but I appreciate it and the quality of them all

2019-07-20 20:55:43 +0000 UTCMy preference would be for you to sculpt without supports/ support less in mind. People that have 3D printers and can’t figure out how to slice their models for printing with supports should watch a few more videos and learn the craft. Support less miniatures can be done well but mostly always lack a connection with how something SHOULD look. I prefer the realism over the convenience.

2019-07-20 20:55:40 +0000 UTCuhh can't see!! Send me the image on FB maybe?
2019-07-20 20:55:19 +0000 UTCYes, but speaking as a resin user. A lot of the modeling techniques that make it good for FDM printing helps for resin as well.

2019-07-20 20:54:21 +0000 UTCcheck this out and see what FDM can do....https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2566265870060157&set=gm.2387576124697273&type=3&theater&ifg=1

2019-07-20 20:53:45 +0000 UTCYes for sure, keeping the same thickness etc in mind, just pushing the poses. Hmm ok, we'll try for the next one of the pirate theme then! I don't have enough experience in FDM printing with supports to judge, so good to have your view on this!
2019-07-20 20:48:41 +0000 UTCNoted :D We also want to do it , more interesting art wise!
2019-07-20 20:46:09 +0000 UTCWe were actually speaking of doing more dynamic poses and adding more pre-generated supports as we have done previously, so FDM people could print easier. We should test and see the results!
2019-07-20 20:44:39 +0000 UTCFDM does fine with supports, as long as pieces aren't too long or too thin!
Greg Kourakos
2019-07-20 20:44:07 +0000 UTCI'm also in favour of more dynamic poses, but I'd prefer it if they came with supports.
2019-07-20 20:43:45 +0000 UTCYes, more dynamic poses is always good :) But I own a resin printer, so ...
