Poll result for June : Fantasy Gladiators + question !

And here is the result for what will be done in june, the fantasy gladiators! And we have a question for you!

It won by a big margin! It'll be in some way inspired by historical gladiators, but we won't stay true to it as it's not our line of work :D Be sure that it will still be fantasy!

For the moment the main idea is :

2 teams of 2, and 2  NPC, some barricades / obstacles for the fight area, weapon racks, stuff like that :D

That where we have a question for your! We want the gladiators to be REALLY cool, and I think they could be interesting being modular like the witch hunters we did, to swap weapons and have dynamic poses! Let us know what you would prefer in the poll :

Let us know! And as usual give us your ideas on what you would like to see!

I second this idea. I think it'd be the best of both worlds to have all the bits for the modular models, plus a "default" version as a single file. People who want to just throw on supports and print can do it, and those who want more customization and are willing to put in the effort can print the pieces and assemble them.

Its not a huge deal as i love the style, but the ease of print and being able to print cure and paint without additional steps is a huge draw for me. Regardless i will be here for the foreseeable future as i have yet to be disappointed and even went back and bought most of the models from before i joined the patreon

Was thinking about it! I'll see what can be done easily! Could be interesting instead!

I can do a couple max per model, because it would be a lot of export and upload. As I'm coming from warhammer and model kits, I don't see the issue, but I can understand people prefer it as simple as possible.

If you did modular would it be too much trouble to ask for a default sculpt thats all in one and an optional modular body? I ask because a few of the random patreons ive joined i really liked the sculpts but the inability to just toss on supports and print really drags down my desire to use the models. Having to either open software to weld the pieces together or glue it together post print puts it into the "ill just make it myself" territory. I love the ease of loading a model, tossing on supports and letting it go. The witch hunters wasnt bad but the superglue mess while attaching the females hands is a constant reminder of that fiasco. (I have superglue streaked down my monitor because i didnt see it had gotten there til the next day)

Basic straight wall section and a 60 degree angle maybe, that would allow people to print multiple straight pieces to scale up the size if needed

Would a small arena be practical? Maybe just walls and an entrance like the church ruins? Simple set of stands?

Personally i like your supportless stuff. I always preferred the ease of production you have rather than mpdularity. If i want modularity there are other pateeons.

Something flat to place in the Center of the arena, think oblivion arena with the grate in the middle.

Yes, Modular all the way, your last ones were great, and it immediately increase the value of the work in my opinion, if there is a helmet and no helmet option plus different weapons, even with 2 or 4 static base poses, it quickly allows a a heap of different printing options!

Robert Large

No we don't offer pre-supported as we can't test in resin yet. Hopefully so far no one had issues printing our stuff so I wouldn't worry about it :D Sitrane on our discord help people with supports if needed.

If they are modular will they be presupported?

Your last Modular model were great. I can’t wait to see these 👌

Alex Anderson

Person with a poseable thumbs up or down to give the final verdict. Traps for the arena!

Jacob Racey

I am very interested in dynamic poses, but don't really need modularity.

what's a gladiator fight without a lion

Nathan Prewett

I’d love to see a tiger in the arena but only if you feel comfortable with it. As for the gladiators I’d love to see a variation in the races. Say elf, halfling, dragonborn (if not to hard on ya) and a human. The weapons and armor shouldn’t really match since it would be whatever is given. But PLEASE make one of the weapons a net, very gladiator weapon. Looking forward to seeing what you do, even though I didn’t vote on it. I’m sure you will make me love it anyways.

If theres some dwarf i would be happy (but try not the Xslayer look)

Antonio Miguel Martorell Ferriol

if you need inspration on gladiatoers and special weapons..check out Dark Sun RPG....would love to have a gladiator set for that!!

Dwarf gladiator would be awesome. And some spiked gauntlets. I'm so happy this theme won.

Sebastian Dzik

I respect that! Fair enough 😅 one possible suggestion: gladiators are normally prisoners, so maybe a fat slave driver. Or an announcer! Ah the possibilities!

If we never done beast and monsters before, there might be a reason haha :D 1st, it's being done a lot by many Patreon, so for the moment we aren't really interested, we want to focus on unique characters. And 2d important point, we aren't the best for that , it's not something we have done in the past so would be hard to give the best quality possible. Later in the future maybe :D

Yesssss to the beasts suggestion, like a chimera! Or giant lizard!

Mark H.

It would also be great some beasts, animals or monsters for the combat arena

Sergio Lafuente

I would love to see a war chariot! Just large enough to hold a single mini. Alternate wheels (like bladed and plane) and decorative bits so you could make a different version or two.
