2020-08-25 23:24:04 +0000 UTCPersonally, figure of common people serve me for diorama photos but also to stage my role-playing games with friends. For me common npc is like printed sceneries. This gives extra depth to a scene like a village where this month a trip to an oasis

I try and print out scenery for each combat so players can use the terrain to their advantage, often fights happen in villages or taverns its nice to have npcs which the players need to take into account. At the end of my last D&D campaign i printed out part of a city which was under siege, the players had to defeat the BBEG whilst getting the townsfolk to safety. Works brilliantly when its a choice between saving a child or getting another attack against the enemy. Vae Victis mini are perfect because each one is so unique its easy to give each of them a quick backstory on the spot!

2020-08-23 14:59:58 +0000 UTCI often wonder about all the Kickstarters & Patreons for 'slice of life' type minis: farmyards & animals, villagers going about their daily life, that kind of thing. The design & detail on these minis are almost uniformly amazing, but what do people DO with these minis? Surely there aren't THAT many people building dioramas out there, and I can't see how they're useful for RPGs or wargames. I'm consumed by curiosity! :)
